The premiere of the new documentary film directed by Martin Kubala

Tereza Podařilová, the Principal Dancer of the National Theatre retired from her active career of a dancer during the autumn of 2019, but she remained within the company as a Ballet Mistress and at the same time continues teaching at the Dance Conservatory of Prague. We backtrack on her last role of Marquise de Merteuil and go back to her professional career path and her life’s journey as a dancer as she lets us very generously peek into her private life.

During one year, we followed Tereza Podařilová not only during rehearsals and during the closing performance of her last show, but also during some important moments of her life. At Christmas or at the time of forced idleness due to the coronavirus pandemic as well as during her performance in the Bridges of Time which was the last ballet of this very unusual season.

Her work as a ballet teacher is also very interesting as she rehearses Eugene Onegin, and together with the Artistic Director of The Czech National Ballet Filip Barankiewicz shows the dancers the ballet figures at the beginning of rehearsals.

The documentary also features important choreographers and dancers whom Tereza has encountered during her prolific career, such as Vlastimil Harapes, Libor Vaculík and Jiří Kylián.
