There are just two months left to enter the Golden Prague 2021 international competition.
Last year, the festival was as extraordinary as are the times we are living through. A record number of films – a tidy one hundred entries, marking the high point in recent years – has been submitted for consideration.
This year again there are three categories of competition programmes, which are selected primarily on the basis of artistic quality:
1) Documentary programmes dedicated to music, dance and theatre
2) Recordings of stage work (recordings of operas, operettas, musicals, dance, ballets, theatre performances etc.)
3) Recordings of concert performance (symphonic/orchestral performances, chamber music, recitals etc.)
The winners in each category will receive a Czech Crystal award. The five member Jury drawn from international experts also hands out special awards for outstanding artistic achievement and, of course, the grand prize – the Grand Prix Golden Prague. Another two prizes are being awarded by Czech Television and the Dagmar and Václav Havel Foundation VIZE 97.
