56 - Víkingur Olafsson & Olafur Eliasson: Bach’s Goldberg Variations

The Pius Church in Meggen, built after plans of Swiss architect Franz Füeg, is considered one of the most significant modern sacred buildings in Switzerland. Among its architectural distinctions are the large-scale translucent marble walls, which softly filter the light and immerse the interior in a floating, almost immaterial atmosphere. Here, architecture and light are inseparably intertwined. In this program, the church becomes the resonant space for an extraordinary artistic experiment.
