2 - Songs of Soaring Birds

Songs of Soaring Birds - fifteen songs for voice, piano, and cello set to poems by Kristján Hreinsson - are an ode to life and to the beauty of the heavens. The cycle was premiered and filmed in 2014 and performed and filmed again at Harpa in Reykjavík in 2026, now by Hildigunnur Einarsdóttir (mezzo), Bryndís Halla Gylfadóttir (cello), and Hrönn Thráinsdóttir (piano). The composer, Thorvaldur Gylfason, briefly introduced each song. The earlier film was aired on Icelandic State Television.
