Sven Helbig created his latest work Requiem A to mark the 80th anniversary of the End of World War II, honoring the victims and sending a profound plea for peace. The ʼAʼ in the title stands for beginning and uses poetic images to call for reconciliation. Departure, breathing are key words in the text, which seek a way into life. It includes live visuals by the Icelandic film artist Máni M. Sigfússon. The world premiere, held in a sold-out Dresden Kreuzkirche, attracted nationwide attention.
