We are very pleased that the Dagmar and Václav Havel Foundation VIZE 97 is supporting the International Television Festival Zlatá Praha once again. The foundation has been awarding its prestigious prize at the festival since 2002, and we deeply value this long-standing collaboration.
Last year, the prize was awarded to the documentary Jamel – Loud Resistance, directed by Martin Groß. The producer is ARD Kultur, with co-producers Labo M on behalf of ARD Kultur, NDR, SWR, BR, and RBB.
Regarding the award, Dagmar Havlová stated: "A very remarkable documentary, in which the idea of peaceful resistance through a music festival, without resorting to violence, stands out. This is the principle on which the Velvet Revolution was built, and the reason it is admired worldwide. A principle upheld by Václav Havel, whose legacy VIZE 97 continues to honor. Therefore, we see a very strong parallel here and a reason for awarding the Dagmar and Václav Havel Foundation VIZE 97 Prize."
In addition to the artistic artifact, the winning film received a financial prize of 50,000 CZK. Who will Dagmar Havlová award this year? If you have a film that could capture attention, don’t hesitate to submit it to the 63rd edition of Zlatá Praha – perhaps this year, it will be you on stage! Submissions open on 1 March 2026.
