Barbara Seiler

Barbara Seiler was born in East Germany and lived until 1989 in Zittau, a small city in the triangle of Germany, Poland and the former Czechoslovakia.

She graduated in Journalism and worked for several TV production companies in Berlin. In 2001 Barbara moved to Zurich (Switzerland) where she did her master’s degree at ZHdK in Film directing.

She worked freelance for Swiss Television, where she directed many short and long documentaries. “I`m a Creative Animal” a film about the soprano Barbara Hannigan, which won Best Portrait at FIFA Montreal and Best Documentary at Women’s Worldwide Film Festival.

Currently Barbara Seiler works as a director, producer and buyer for “Sternstunde Kunst und Musik”, the program for art documentaries in Swiss Television. She has two daughters and lives near Zurich.
