Daniel Gorjão was born in Minde in 1984. He attended the Actor Training course at Moderna University, and later the Lisbon Theatre and Film School.

In 2003 he debuted at the Teatro Politeama company, having worked with Filipe La Féria for seven years. In 2010 he won the Emerging Talent Award of the Teatro Nacional D. Maria II / Almada Festival and conceived the piece “um dia dancei SÓ dancei um dia”, creating a series of performances for the theatre ever since.

In 2014 he was nominated for the Time Out Awards and New Talent Award with “Radiografia de um nevoeiro imperturbável”. In 2017 he won the City of Lisbon Award / Fatal with “ama como a estrada começa”, for GTIST. That same year, he created “Júlia” for São Luiz Teatro Municipal, having also created “Vita e Virginia” for the same theatre in 2021.

More recently he created “Nós como futuro” for the National Ballet of Portugal. He has been acting and dubbing director for RTP since 2010. In 2016 he took on the performing arts programming for RTP2. He is also an invited professor of the post-graduate course in Dramaturgy at ESMAE.
