Federico Llano - Sabugueiro (* 1960, A Coruña, Galicia, Spain) studied chemistry and cinematography, started as a feature-film p.a. in Barcelona and won a post as producer in TVE in 1983. After managing magazines and news in Galicia and Canary Islands, he moved to Madrid in 1987 for making documentary programmes.

Then in 1988 Federico started working on international co-productions, first as delegate-producer in some forty European drama mini-series and then on the different television genres (fiction, animation, documentaries, entertainment and classical music). He was TVE’s representative before ECA and ARTE, and since 1994 has worked with the EBU/UER.

During 15 years from 2002 Federico has been TVE’s head for television Festivals, and head of the Spanish delegation for the Eurovision Song Contest. From 2011 to 2017 he has been an elected member and vice-president of the EBU Television Committee. Collaborating with the EBU TV Music Experts Group since 2008, in 2017 Federico was elected as member of their steering group.

Federico retired in October 2023 after forty years of public television life.
