Ivo Mathé is a producer, screenwriter, university professor, and manager. Having graduated from the Film and Television School of the Academy of Performing Arts (FAMU) at the beginning of the 1970s, Ivo Mathé has held professorship at the institution continuously since 1990.

During many years, he served as an executive producer with the former Czechoslovak Television, where he saw the production of a large number of films, series, and co-production projects carried out with such organizations as ZDF, YLE, ORF, WDR, SWF, and others. Following the Velvet Revolution, he was appointed as Art Director in 1990.

In 1991, Mathé was elected as the first General Manager of Czech Television, a position he held until the spring of 1998. Under his management, Czech Television first revived Czech cinematography and subsequently produced or co-produced hundreds of feature films.

During 1995 to 1998, Mathé served as Vice President of the Geneva-based European Broadcasting Union (EBU). From 1998 to 2003, we worked for President Václav Havel as Head of the Office of the President of the Republic. Subsequently, he served as President of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague during 2005 to 2013.

Mathé is the President of the Czech Film and Television Academy, an organization he co-founded, and a member of the European Film Academy.
