MEET THE NOMINEES FOR THE 63RD GOLDEN PRAGUE COMPETITION!

Who made it to the second round?
The nominees were selected in the first round of judging by a five-member international jury. The ten highest-scoring films in each of the three categories advanced to the second round. Where additional films received the same number of points as the tenth-ranked title, they advanced as well, bringing the total number of nominees to 34.

Competition categories:
1) DOCUMENTARY PROGRAMMES DEDICATED TO MUSIC, DANCE, AND THEATRE
2) RECORDINGS OF CONCERT PERFORMANCE (symphonic/orchestral performances, chamber music, recitals etc.)
3) RECORDINGS OF STAGE WORK (recordings of operas, operettas, musicals, dance, ballets, theatre performances etc.)

How does the second round work? The second round of the competition takes place during the festival itself. The jury will select the winners of the following awards:

1) GRAND PRIX GOLDEN PRAGUE
The festival’s main prize, awarded to the best programme. This award includes a cash prize of EUR 10,000.
2) Three CZECH CRYSTALS
Presented to the best entries in each of the three competition categories.
3) SPECIAL MENTION
Awarded by the jury for an exceptional artistic achievement.

Wild Card: A second chance for non-finalists
Each juror may propose one “wild card” – a programme that did not make it into the main selection but, in their view, deserves a second chance. Up to five wild cards may be proposed in total. The final decision on their inclusion in the second round is made collectively by the jury. Jurors are not obligated to use this option.

Additional Awards Even films that did not advance to the second round are still eligible for special prizes:
1) CZECH TELEVISION PRIZE
Awarded by the Director General of Czech Television.
2) DAGMAR AND VÁCLAV HAVEL FOUNDATION VIZE 97 AWARD
This award includes a financial prize of CZK 50,000.
