The film is a journey back to the year 1873, when Vienna hosted the largest World Expo at the time on the Prater grounds and went from being an imperial residence to a cosmopolitan metropolis. The whole world met here – from the Japanese Tenno to the King of Hawaii. Beginning at the Musikverein the film takes us to the magical sites of the World Expo, which still exist or are brought to life by elaborate animations, virtual reality and graphic effects.
