12 - Belina - Music For Peace

Polish singer Belina toured the world in the 1960s and became the European queen of folk. She lost almost the whole of her family to anti-Jewish persecution. After the war she set out on championing the ideals of tolerance and equal rights between Germans, Jews and other nations. As musical ambassador she sought closer relations and reconciliation. This remains acutely relevant in our times of crisis with wars, racism and refugees. Belina was the first winner of the Golden Prague Festival 1964.
