26 - Čiurlionis After Čiurlionis

“Čiurlionis After Čiurlionis” explores how perceptions of Lithuania’s most renowned artist, M. K. Čiurlionis, have shifted across eras. After his death in 1911, he became a symbol of national identity; later, Stalinism sought to erase his legacy, while Soviet ideology reshaped it for propaganda. Following Lithuania’s regained independence, his place in European culture was restored. The film asks how the myths surrounding Čiurlionis continue to shape his story today.
