Concerts for Freedom and Democracy are devoted to compositions from the 20th century with an uneasy birth or an unsettled destiny. Jakub Hrůša put together an original “Slavic” night from the early works of Sergei Rachmaninoff, Leoš Janáček and lastly Witold Lutosławski who had been prosecuted by censors for his artistic and civic attitudes.
