43 - Concert for peace

Bookending their landmark concert in Sarajevo in 2014 which marked the beginning of the World War I centenary, the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, together with co-producers France Télévisions and ZDF, offer a bold and remarkable concert from Versailles on the anniversary of the armistice which ended that conflict some four years later. The musical programme is interwoven with short video ‘postcard’ sequences for which a suggested commentary script is supplied by Benoît Duteurtre, renowned author.
