44 - DONN. DANCER OF THE XXTH CENTURY

Through compelling and deeply moving archival footage, this film brings the Argentine dancer Jorge Donn back to life. Becoming Béjart’s favourite performer, muse and lover, Donn brings to the stage a new masculinity; intense, vulnerable and deeply sensitive. At the height of his artistry, his health failed, his great love drifted away, and his body was weakened by AIDS. Yet Donn continued tirelessly to create and dance until the very end, immortalised in his final performance of Ravel’s Boléro.
