Presented as the opening of the 2025 season at Opéra de Lille, L’Écume des jours
by Edison Denisov tells the love of Colin and Chloé, soon threatened by illness,
blending surreal poetry, jazz and contemporary darkness. Directed by Anna Smolar,
who places Chloé at the center of the narrative in a 1970s-inspired aesthetic, and
conducted by Bassem Akiki, this production revisits Boris Vian's beloved novel,
mixing dreamlike lightness and the tragedy of loss.
