41 - FAUST

Presented by Opéra de Lille, Denis Podalydès’ staging of Faust revisits the myth in
a popular, tragic and luminous form. A man guided by the devil pursues a
chimerical quest while Marguerite becomes the fixed point in a drifting world.
Performed in its original 1859 version with spoken text, the production blends
theatrical magic and musical emotion, and was awarded the Prix Claude-Rostand
for Best Regional and European Lyric Co-Production by the French Critics'
Association.
