The journalist Florestan has vanished without a trace. His young wife, Leonore, finds clues in his office pointing to a political scandal involving Congressman Pizarro, who is in charge of the prisons. Leonore disguises herself as a man and takes a job as an assistant at the central prison. Is her husband being held there?
