The journalist Florestan has vanished without a trace. His young wife, Leonore, finds clues in his office pointing to a political scandal involving Congressman Pizarro, who is in charge of the prisons. Hoping to find her husband, Leonore disguises herself as a man and takes a job as an assistant at the central prison. Is Florestan being held there?
