64 - The Great World Theatre - Salzburg and its Festival

Franz Swatosch, the longtime servant of festival founder Max Reinhardt, prepares a special dinner at Schloss Leopoldskron in Salzburg, where several key figures from the festival’s history meet: The founders Max Reinhardt, Hugo von Hofmannsthal and Richard Strauss, the strategists Helene Thimig, Margarete Wallmann and Anna von Mildenburg, as well as the innovator Gottfried von Einem. Flashbacks show important events from the founding in 1920 to the 1960s, and give a glimpse into the present.
