2 - Keep the Beat

The Chap-book Project (Špalíček) set to music by Bohuslav Martinů derives from a concept used in the Berlin Philharmonic’s successful socio-artistic project Rhythm. Its aim was to actively involve children and young people in the creative process of a work of art who up until then had never had any experience or special disposition for dance or other arts and who came from various social and ethnic groups, bringing them together with children with some training and talent for movement. The film documents the year and a half of ongoing rehearsals with choreographer Eva Blažíčková and the performance in the Prague Congress Centre.
