47 - La bohème

Mario Martone sets the love affairs, friendship and struggles of the 19th century young Parisians in a world that recall the poetics of the french Nouvelle Vague. The film is set in the Scenography Laboratories of Teatro dell'Opera: a fascinating industrial building in the very heart of Rome. The action takes place in a decoration hall, immense deposits of costumes and props, and a carpentry. The Orchestra itself, recorded live, is immersed in the huge, light-flooded, panoramic hall.
