The premiere of this performance took place at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco on December 27, 2011. Jean-Christophe Maillot wanted to cooperate with the writer Jean Rouaud and bring new drama into this stellar of classical repertory. The set for this performance was designed by Maillot’s long term colleague, the artist Ernest Pignon-Ernest, whilst the costumes are the creation of Philippe Guillotel. The joint effort of these highly talented artists together with Maillot’s skills and sensitivity promise an exciting re-interpretation of this important work.
