The remarkable life of Mariss Jansons (1943-2019), one of the world’s leading conductors, is told for the first time by the musicians that worked closely with him. As the titular director of the Oslo Philharmonic, the Pittsburgh Symphony, the Concertgebouw and the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestras, Jansons built an artistic and emotional bond with the members, a connection that endures to this day as witnessed by the interviews and the tribute performances they offer in homage to Jansons.
