The Estonian Festival Orchestra (EFO) was founded by Paavo Järvi in 2011. His long dreamed ambition to create a hand picked orchestra, bringing together the best of Estonian talent and leading musicians from around the world, became true. In 2018 the EFO made its first major European tour, followed by debuts at both the BBC Proms and Hamburg Elbphilharmonie. Just few days before BBC Proms, they performed at Pärnu Music Festival, playing one of Arvo Pärt’ masterpieces, his 3rd Symphony.
