Marking 200 years since his death, Carl Maria von Weber emerges as a restless pioneer of Romantic music. Raised in a traveling theater family, he developed a deep sense of music’s emotional power. He redefined the orchestra as a storyteller, opening new sonic worlds that still influence film music today. Despite illness and hardship, he persevered. His opera “Der Freischütz” became a landmark and defined German Romantic opera for generations.
