With "Rigoletto in Mantua" Andrea Andermann continues his successful series of “Live Films”, following his “Tosca in the settings and at the times of Tosca” and “La Traviata in Paris”. Filmed on location in Mantua and performed live in the settings of the libretto, the exceptional artistic and technical cast includes Placido Domingo as Rigoletto, Julia Novikova as Gilda, Vittorio Grigolo as the Duke, and Maestro Zubin Mehta conducting the RAI National Symphony Orchestra.
Together, they have revived the timeless work that recounts the complexity of human life through the eternal opposites: Love and Hatred, Good and Evil, Life and Death.
