On May 7th, 1824 Ludwig van Beethoven's 9th Symphony was premiered at the Kärntnertortheater in Vienna. The documentary embarks on an exciting journey through time into the past of this venerable theater stage, which was demolished in 1873/74 and was later replaced by the famous Hotel Sacher. For the film, the lost building and its acoustics were to be reconstructed in such a way that a re-experience of the room and sound of Beethoven's time was almost possible.
