11 - A Year in the Life of Choreographer Jiří Kylián

There were two significant milestones in the life of the world-known choreographer of Czech origin Jiří Kylián during the 2018-2019 season. First one was the gala premiere on the occasion of the 100th Anniversary of the foundation of Czechoslovak Republic at Prague’s National Theatre – an arranged evening called Kylián – Bridges of Time. The second one was the award of the Order of Knights of the French Academy of Arts which Kylián received in March 2019. He is the first choreographer in the world to have received this distinguished award, and only the third Czech ever.
