The Awards Ceremony of the 61st Golden Prague International Television Festival will take place in the splendid Municipal House in Prague, which has become the new home of this prestigious festival. The gorgeous Art-Nouveau building in the city centre will not only provide the festival with an impressive backdrop, but also a space for an unforgettable evening to be broadcast by Czech Television.
Under the auspices of the Mayor of Prague and the Minister of Culture of the Czech Republic, Golden Prague once again becomes the centre of world’s television production. The festival has also long cooperated with Dagmar Havlová and the Dagmar and Václav Havel Foundation VIZE 97, underlining its commitment to supporting quality artistic creation.
The five-member international jury will select the best of the 89 entries from producers and television companies from all over the world. In addition to the Grand Prix, Czech Crystals will be awarded in three categories, as well as several special prizes, including the Czech Television Prize, Special Mention for Extraordinary Artistic Achievement, and the Award of the Dagmar and Václav Havel Foundation VIZE 97.
Golden Prague does not only feature traditional prizes, but also extraordinary accolades. The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and the IMZ International Music + Media Centre will once again award the Special Prize for Outstanding Artistic Achievement. This prize attests to the festival’s importance as a platform for internationally renowned artists.
Music at the gala evening will be played by Ivo Kahánek, one of the most renowned Czech pianists. In addition to Kahánek’s solo performance, the audience can look forward to several other special guests who will create an unforgettable atmosphere.
