Not quite sure what’s behind the name Prague Philharmonic Choir? Does an alto sing higher than a soprano? A film crew set out on a journey with this renowned ensemble during its 90th season to find the answers. Along the way, they uncovered not only the inner workings of the oldest professional choir in the Czech Republic, but also the personal stories that shape it.
Enjoy thrilling vocal performances captured in breathtaking footage from Carnegie Hall, Times Square, across Europe, and at home.
Featuring members of the choir, Chief Choirmaster and Artistic Director Lukáš Vasilek, conductor Semyon Bychkov, actress Audrey Bonnet, and more. Actor Kryštof Hádek guides the story as a curious newcomer to the world of choral singing. The fresh and dynamic direction is the work of Dominik Kalivoda.
The screening will be in Czech.
