Classical music lovers, get ready for an extraordinary experience! The Orchestra Rehearsal series by the Czech Philharmonic invites audiences young and old on another musical adventure. This time, under the baton of conductor Petr Altrichter, with host Marek Eben, and the Czech Philharmonic, we will explore the first three symphonic poems from Bedřich Smetana’s cycle Má vlast (My Country).
The concert is divided into two parts: in the first, the audience experiences a real "orchestra rehearsal," where the conductor, host, and musicians engage in dialogue, offering excerpts and insights into each part of the compositions. In the second part, the full work is performed in concert, in all its power and beauty.
How did Smetana originally compose these pieces? And how are they interpreted today? You'll find out during the evening — and some of the differences may truly surprise you.
Stage direction: Alice Nellis
