The new time-lapse documentary A Year with the National Theatre directed by Michal Špejra and David Bělohradský maps a beautiful but challenging year children, parents, and teachers of the Říčany Art School could spend thanks to the amazing cooperation with the National Theatre. They took part in the Partner School project, for which the National Theatre selects one school each year with which to work. This year, for the first time, all the National Theatre companies – not only drama, but also ballet and opera – were involved in the project, now in its seventh year.
“It started quite nonchalantly, with a simple e-mail and a meeting at a café,” says Iveta Sinkulová, director of the Říčany Art School. “At the beginning, no one knew how far the project would go. Would anyone be interested in it? But one thing was certain – we wanted to connect all the artistic disciplines. And we succeeded. We are very grateful for this opportunity and thank everyone who helped us.”
