VIZE 97 Foundation to honor outstanding television work again

Dagmar Havlová Authored by: Ondřej Pýcha

The Dagmar and Václav Havel Foundation VIZE 97 has been a vital partner of the Golden Prague International Television Festival for many years. The Foundation has been presenting its prestigious award at the festival since 2002, and this tradition will continue this year. We deeply value this long-term collaboration and are grateful for it!

Last year, Ondřej Havelka received the award for directing the television adaptation of G. F. Handel's famous oratorio: Messiah. The producer of the film, Jiří Hubač, accepted the award from Dagmar Havlová. The project was produced by Czech Television in collaboration with Unitel.

"The Dagmar and Václav Havel Foundation VIZE 97 believes that the cultivation of society is one of those often overlooked activities whose value becomes apparent only with time. An educated and culturally sophisticated nation is a goal that the VIZE 97 Foundation has been pursuing since its inception," stated Dagmar Havlová. "We share this vision with the Golden Prague Television Festival, which is why we deeply value this collaboration and appreciate Czech Television's co-production activities with global producers and distributors."

The winning film received both an artistic artifact and a check for 50,000 CZK. Who will receive the VIZE 97 Foundation award and financial prize from Mrs. Havlová this year? If you have a film that might capture attention, submit it to the Golden Prague competition – perhaps you'll be the one on stage this year! Applications for the 62nd Golden Prague Festival open on March 1, 2025.
