The Dagmar and Václav Havel Foundation VIZE 97 is a long-term partner of the Golden Prague International Television Festival - it has awarded its Prize many times since 2002, and this will be the case this year as well. We really appreciate the Foundation's continued support. Thank you very much.
Last year, Martin Kubala, director of the film "Nikola Márová: Portrait of a Prima Ballerina", received the prestigious VIZE 97 Foundation Award from Dagmar Havlová. The documentary was produced by Czech Television in co-production with the National Theatre.
"An educated and cultured nation is the goal that the VIZE 97 Foundation has been striving for since its beginnings. We share this goal with the Golden Prague Television Festival and it is great that Czech Television produces documentaries about personalities who elevate the Czech cultural scene with their extraordinary talents and also share their experiences with young people," said Dagmar Havlová, Chairwoman of the Board of Trustees of the Dagmar and Václav Havel Foundation VIZE 97. "It is practically invaluable to have directors like Martin Kubala, who can turn a documentary into a unique artistic experience with a unique atmosphere. For such a feat as Portrait of a Prima Ballerina, Martin Kubala deserves the VIZE 97 Foundation Award. We believe that the documentary will bring entertainment, education and, above all, inspiration to many viewers."
In addition to the artistic artefact, the winning film also received a cheque for CZK 50,000. To whom will Dagmar Havlová present the VIZE 97 Foundation Award and the prize money cheque this year? Submit your film to the Golden Prague competition and it might be you!
