Graduate of the Faculty of Arts, Charles University, radio and television presenter and scriptwriter, media manager.

For Czech, respectively former Czechoslovak Radio, he prepared and hosted a weekly talk show with President Václav Havel called "Conversations in Lány" in 1990 and 1991. In 1993, he received one of the awards at the International Radio Festival Prix Bohemia Radio. Since 2011, he has been the author and presenter of the series "World Auditoria" about opera houses and concert halls for Radio Classic Prague.

He has commented on dozens of broadcasts and recordings of music programs for Czech Television, including more than thirty New Year's Concerts from Vienna. He has hosted numerous concerts of the Czech Philharmonic on camera, including charity events for those affected by COVID-19 in 2020. He has also co-hosted numerous Award Ceremonies at the International Television Festival Golden Prague.

He hosts significant concerts (or post-concert talks) at venues throughout the Czech Republic as part of festivals such as Dvořák's Prague, the Leoš Janáček International Music Festival, the Krumlov Festival, etc. In 2019, he moderated the live broadcast on TV Mezzo of the Operalia competition winners announcement.
At the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries, he was the director of the International Television Festival Golden Prague for several years. From 2002 to 2010, he was the chief producer of artistic programs and competitions at Czech Radio and the director of ČRo 2 station. From 2014 to 2020, he was the vice-chairman of the Czech Radio Council.

He regularly publishes in specialist magazines focused on classical music or opera, such as Harmonie monthly or the web portal KlasikaPlus. He is the author of several books, such as an overview of radio stations around the world titled "What the World Broadcasts." But above all, he is the proud co-author of his daughter Ester and the owner of a beagle named Bamboo.
