Since joining NHK in 1995, she has established multi-camera directing skills for TV at NHK. Her TV works include Prokofiev’s opera “War and Peace” (Mariinsky Theatre Japan tour), Takemitsu’s opera “My Way of Life” (Berlin Deutch Oper Japan tour), “La Sylphide” (National Ballet of Japan), and Rolland Petit’s “Pink Floyd Ballet” (Maki Asami Ballet Company). She also stage directed Grigori Frid’s mono opera “Diary of Anne Frank” for TV (Japan Premiere).
Before becoming Senior Producer at NHK, she worked for NHK Enterprises Europe in London (now called NHK Cosmomedia Europe) between 2005 and 2008, where she produced theatre live recordings include “Othello” at Shakespeare’s Globe and Royal Shakespeare Company’s “King Lear” starring Sir Ian McKellen. She also worked for NHK Symphony Orchestra, Tokyo, between 2010 and 2013 as an Associate Artistic Administrator.
Currently, as Senior Producer at NHK Music & Theatre Programmes Division, she is in charge of international TV co-production in classical music (opera, ballet and concert). Also, since 2017, she has been leading 8K recording of stage performances in Europe, and has produced Mariinsky Ballet “Nutcracker” (Mariinsky Theatre II, St. Petersburg), Concerts of Berliner Philharmoniker conducted by Sir Simon Rattle (Philharmonie, Berlin), Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra conducted by Michael Sanderling (Concertgebouw, Amsterdam), opera “La Finta Giardiniera (Teatro all Scala), and Paris Opera Ballet “Swan Lake” (Paris Opera Bastilles).
