12:30 Still on Fire? – Jakub Třasák, violin player and producer

The former child star of TV shows but also a successful graduate of the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston bases his music career not only on the American continent. The documentary from the series by Hana Pinkavová about highly talented artists is a continuation of stories about the talent and uniqueness of the protagonists of the series “I’m on fire, do not put out!” and “The Deal of the Talent”. The confrontation of a child’s and teenager’s naivety with the harsh and uncompromising world of the adults.

13:30 Michal Prokop - When They Come to Get Me…

The life story of the musician, politician and host Michal Prokop as directed by Jiří Vondrák. Michal Prokop has been among the leading personalities of the Czech music scene for the past half century, yet no major documentary about him has been made so far. The traces of his authorship and performances within Czechoslovakian rock music are non-negligible as well as his political engagement, television work or personal opinions. The film describes the overlapping periods of all the areas of his life as they are essentially inseparable.

Special guests of the screening: Michal Prokop and Jiří Vondrák.

 

A film trilogy by Jo Strømgren and Stein-Roger Bull. Three plots with the same concept – all three ballets take place in a closed room. Great dancers and international star soloists who play music by three European composers of the same period – Leo Eugen Janáček, Zoltán Kodály and Eugène Ysaÿe. Music reflects the psychological dynamics of a human conflict like a mirror. Prosaic situation in realistic surroundings serves as a contrast to the abstract association expressed in music and dance. The two special screenings will be followed by a third one - the premiere of the film "An Accident" - September 24 at 17:30 at the Great Hall of the New Stage of the National Theatre.
