The first project focusing on the history of Czech swing music and dance from the beginning up to now. The film tries to answer the question why swing music and dance have been attracting people young in age and spirit for more than 80 years, across decades, historical periods and fashion styles into the modern times of the 21st century. We get walked through the film by the character of a narrator who has the looks and manners appropriate for 1920’s Czechoslovakia.
The part of the film covering the beginning of swing up to World War 2 is filmed in black and white, the picture then gains colour. The history of swing music and dance is presented through archive footage, acted scenes showing us swing dance and through short interviews with key personalities such as Jiří Suchý or Petr Koura.
